Christmas has just gone, the New Year has started lazily and Epiphany has put back in the attic lights, decorations and the warm atmosphere of the holiday season. It looks like after the 6^th of January, we have all to go back to the same old routine.

But this is not completely true: Florence sales has just begun. Can you imagine a better way to start off 2019 than with some cool designer item? If you got some unexpected extra budget under the tree or in your last month paycheck.  

Anyway, if you are in Florence in January you won’t need to break the bank to buy some designer accessories or fashionable dress. Personally, I adore sales, because for Christmas I sometimes forget about some presents and I can make amends buying a discounted designer present.

If you like to indulge just a little bit, you can take advantage of all the sales and discounts available in Tuscany from the 5^th January to the 5^th March 2019.

 

A journey through the city center boutiques

The center of Florence is packed with branded shops, lavish boutiques and refines jewelries. Even if they are often off budget, sales make them suddenly good deals.

I love taking a long walk along Via de’ Tornabuoni, where all the best Italian designer brands have their prestigious boutiques. Glitters, luxury dress, high heels will make you feel like a star. You can find the other boutiques in Via Roma, Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza Strozzi and Via della Vigna Nuova.

Actually, in January you can find great deals almost everywhere, so have fun!

 

The best outlets in the neighborhood

Do you know that in Tuscany you can find some of the best Italian designer outlets?
When they opened, I wasn’t sure I was going to like them, because I thought they were mere shopping centers, really crowded and soulless.

Then, I discovered that the outlets around Florence can be very funny to explore. Above all, they are so easy to reach from our hotels by shuttle bus from SMN train station that they are definitely worth a visit. 

 

1. Barberino Designer outlet

 

This is one of my favorite outlets, because it makes me feel like I am in a little and cute town, with little streets, a little river and bridges flanked by designer boutiques and casual style clothing shops.

If you are a fan of big brands, you can go shopping in the shops of Prada, Calvin Klein, Patrizia Pepe, Dolce & Gabbana, Lacoste and Ralph Loren. If you prefer sportswear, go for Adidas, Nike, Puma and Vans.

During the sales weeks I can always find great deals, because the discounts are even higher than the ordinary.

If you want to go shopping there, take advantage of the shuttle buses that leave from the main station of Santa Maria Novella and reach the Barberino Designer Outlet Village just in 30 minutes.  

 

 

2. Outlet The Mall

 

The Mall is definitely a couture outlet, the Olympus of the A-list global brands.

I go there whenever I want to really spoil myself with a great present or I want to get a rewards for all my efforts working in our hotels – Grand Hotel Adriatico and Boutique Hotel Rivoli.

The sales season is ideal to visit The Mall and get the best designer deals. I always recommend it to our guests in order to find great made in Italy products and much more.

Gucci, Armani, Balenciaga, Scervino, Hogan and Tod’s have their own boutique here. Unfortunately, here you won’t find cheap deals, as these brands, even if discounted, have high prices anyway.

Anyway, how can you resist to a dress of Alexander Mc Queen, a foulard by Emilio Pucci or an exclusive pair of stilettos by Tom Ford?
Don’t resist, and treat yourself to a little moment of pleasure.

 

The shuttle bus towards The Mall leaves many times during the day from Santa Caterina da Siena, near the SMN Station.
